Meet the team

Dr Rebecca Sadler (nee Ingledew) is a highly experienced general dentist with a special interest in restorative and implant dentistry. She qualified with top of her year with Honours in 1996 from Newcastle and was awarded the BDA prize. Since graduation she has continued to pursue further training and increase her knowledge and skills. Her commitment to the profession is shown by the numerous national and international courses she has attended Cosmetic, Restorative and Implant dentistry throughout the UK, Europe and USA. She is interested in Digital dentistry and the progress made with materials and cutting edge techniques.

Living in Henley with her husband and 2 young children she has worked in the Home counties since 1997. In 2006 she set up the dental practice in Maidenhead which was the first practice acquired by the Portman group. She joined Courtrai House in Henley on Thames in 2009. She has a very loyal following of patients and several of her patients have moved away and still travel to her for their dental care – her furthest patient lives in Sydney Australia! A mother of two she balances home life and a career. She offers flexible hours to accommodate appointments outside work and hours. A keen competitive rower she can often be found on the river and more recently swimming in it, or running alongside it.

Paul Cattell is doubly qualified as both a Dentist and a Dental Technician, and has practiced General Dentistry since 1998. With award-winning talent (he has won prizes in Conservative Dentistry and Dental Technology), Paul enjoys delivering good quality work which makes patients happy. He has a special interest in Restorative Dentistry (crown and bridge work) and always keeps up to date in his field by regular reading and course attendance.

In his spare time, Paul enjoys shooting (clay pigeons, not people).

Since qualifying at Birmingham in 2009 Karen has worked in private practices in York and Buckinghamshire. Karen has a keen interest in all aspects of dentistry, including restoring implants.In her spare time she like to keep active.

Karen enjoy yoga and Pilates and completed her first half marathon in Windsor last year.

Claire graduated from Newcastle Dental School with Distinction in 1999 and has since mainly worked in private general practice.

She has a calm, friendly persona and a reputation for putting even the most nervous patient at ease. Claire enjoys all aspects of restorative dentistry and keeps up to date with the latest techniques and materials.

Claire’s two young sons keep her busy, but she tries to find time for a run by the river in Henley and enjoys swimming ( occasionally competitively). She also loves reading and is herself a prizewinning fiction writer.

Dr Hameed qualified from Guy’s Hospital in London in 2000 and completed her vocational training in Bedfordshire. She then worked in general practice and community dentistry. She completed Senior House Officer posts in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS), Restorative and Paediatric Dentistry at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’s Hospitals and passed the MFDS examination for the Royal College of Surgeons of England. She has taught Radiology and Emergency Dental care at Kings College London, and has been an Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England (Faculty of Dental Surgery) for 9 years.

In 2007, Dr Hameed undertook a 1 year OMFS Surgical Implant Fellowship at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), training in dental implants, sinus and bone augmentation. Thereafter she provided outpatient Oral Surgery as a Specialty Dr in OMFS at the Royal Berkshire and West Berkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

In 2014, Dr Hameed returned to Los Angeles to pursuit a 3-year full time Advanced Periodontology and Implant Dentistry training program and Masters of Science in Craniofacial Biology. In 2017, she was awarded a certificate of specialist training in Advanced Periodontology as well as a Master of Science (MS) from the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles.

Dr Hameed is highly experienced in all aspects of surgical dentistry, and her practice is focused to Periodontology, Oral surgery and Implant Dentistry.

Dr. Samaneh (Ronak) Shams completed her specialist training at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’s Dental Institute London, having previously graduated with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree in 2008 and worked as principal general dental practitioner. She was awarded her Master of Science in Orthodontics from King’s College London and Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Her commitment to providing the highest quality orthodontic treatment is supported by her ongoing professional development and training in the latest technologies and techniques. She is experienced in all contemporary types of orthodontic appliances, including Damon, lingual systems and clear aligners, such as Invisalign. She is a member of the British Orthodontic Society, the European Orthodontic Society, the American Association of Orthodontists and the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.

Dr Ronak’s special interests include non-extraction treatments, smile aesthetics and design and facial-driven orthodontics. She addresses the needs of each patient individually and wants to help you make a well- informed decision. Dr Ronak’s goal is to provide each patient with the most appropriate treatment at the most appropriate time, and to ensure that it gets the very best results from this.

When not working, she spends most of her time with her family, enjoys an active lifestyle, to be outdoors, running or playing tennis and of course shopping…otherwise, you’ll find her cosied up with her daughter reading fairy tales!

Afif qualified in 2006 from Sheffield university. Having worked in Rotherham he returned to his home in Berkshire and began his career offering exceptional dental care to his patients. With 14 years of experience providing general and cosmetic care he has joined Courtrai House to continue to provide an excellent service in a relaxed and approachable chair side manner.

Afif likes to take the time required to address you dental needs in an honest and trusted environment. His passion to help save teeth has reflected in attending a multitude of courses and also currently Kings College University to further his knowledge and skill in root canal therapy.

He uses a microscope to help succeed with complex cases and to improve the successful outcomes of treatment.

He shares the same mindset of excellent clinical outcomes and patient support. He has been involved with several charity dental projects both abroad and in the UK. He enjoys keeping fit and exploring the outdoors including cycling and hiking. His dental skills are also put to great use with his hobby restoring cars and cycles .

Dr James Critchley is an enormously experienced restorative dentist with over 21 years in practice providing family, implant, and cosmetic dentistry. James’ passion for dentistry started at an early age following his father who was one of the UK’s leading implant dentists. Such was James’ interest in dental implants that he started his post-graduate training before he had even completed his dental degree, spending time at the home of dental implants in Gothenberg Sweden. This was followed by time in America being mentored by some of the world's top cosmetic dentists. To date, James has completed 1600 cases.

His post-graduate training is still focused on spending time directly with the worlds leading dentists in the fields of implant dentistry and cosmetic dentistry. This has meant James has built a particular reputation for his skill in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, including the all-on-four technique, straightening teeth using invisible orthodontic aligners, and dental implants.

When James is not at the practice he spends most of his time with his family. His interests are anything outdoors from Rugby to skiing.

Bilawal graduated with Honours from the University of Birmingham. He has since worked as a general dentist and spent a year in hospital as part of the oral and maxillofacial surgery team.

He is committed to providing the highest quality of care, keeping up to date with postgraduate training in order to ensure each patient receives the best care, tailored to them. With a calm approach he will ensure you feel comfortable and looked after.

In his spare time he likes to keep up with the Formula 1, if he is not watching the races you will find him trying out a new restaurant, reading or travelling.
